Frequently asked questions
How is my data stored?
Everything you enter is stored locally on your device. On Apple devices, if you have iCloud Drive enabled, the operating system syncs the data between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. On Android, the data lives in app-private storage on the device itself. East Valley Tactical never receives or stores your collection data on either platform. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I move my collection between iOS and Android?
Use Google Drive as the bridge. On the source device, open Settings → Google Drive, sign in with the same Google account you want to use on the other platform, and tap "Back Up Now." On the destination device, sign in with the same Google account in the same screen and tap "Restore." The destination's local collection is replaced with the snapshot you just uploaded.
This is a manual sync — it doesn't run in the background. Push to Drive whenever you've made meaningful changes on one platform that you want to see on the other.
How do I back up to Google Drive?
In the app, open Settings → Google Drive (on iOS this lives under Settings → Backups → Google Drive) and sign in with your Google account. The first time you tap "Back Up Now," EVT App creates a folder in your Drive and uploads a single JSON file with your collection. The same screen lets you restore from the latest backup or disconnect Google Drive at any time. The Drive backup file format is the same on iOS and Android, so a backup uploaded from one can be restored on the other.
What Google permissions does the app request?
Only the drive.file scope, which gives EVT
App access to files it creates or opens — not anything
else in your Drive. We do not read your other files. See
the Privacy Policy
for the full disclosure required by Google's API Services
User Data Policy.
How do I revoke EVT App's Google access?
Either disable the Google Drive backup feature from the app's Settings, or revoke access directly from Google at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Both methods invalidate the OAuth token; no further data moves between your device and Google after that.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the EVT app from your device — the local database is removed with it.
- iOS / iPadOS: long-press the EVT icon → Remove App → Delete App. If you have iCloud sync enabled, also delete the app from your other Apple devices, or sign out of iCloud on those devices.
- macOS: drag EVT from Applications to the Trash.
- Android: long-press the EVT icon → App info → Uninstall. (Use Storage & cache → Clear storage instead if you want to wipe the data without removing the app.)
- Google Drive backup: open Drive directly and delete the EVT folder. EVT App keeps no separate copy.
Will EVT App work without an East Valley Tactical account?
Yes. EVT App requires no East Valley Tactical login or account. The Shop tab opens our storefront inside the app for browsing, but you only need to sign in there if you want to make a purchase.
I found a bug or have feedback. What should I do?
Email us through the East Valley Tactical contact form with "EVT App bug" in the subject. Include the device model, OS version (iOS, iPadOS, macOS, or Android), and a description of what happened. If you can reproduce it, the exact steps help a lot. Screenshots are welcome.
Is the app free?
Yes. EVT App is provided as a free tool for the firearms community. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no advertising.
